🏈 Ubuntu Zoom Microphone Not Working
When you open the app, click on the "zoom.us" tab at the top left and, then click on preferences. Click on "Audio" in the left panel of the window that just opened up. At the top of the window there is a "Speaker" section. The first button is "Test Speaker."
First of all please check at Settings > Sound if the correct input device is select and the levels. Adv Reply February 18th, 2021 #3
Zoom recognizes the external soundcard (as microphone) it is a Rubix22 (Roland) for Live Music but requires a switching of (changing the microphone device) and switching it on a gain to be functioning. So at first, there is no sound, even if it is selected in Zoom. It seems like bug to us.
Camera, Microphone, and other privacy settings tied directly to a peripheral device. Some desktop apps may not be affected by turning off these privacy settings. For example, an app that also installs a driver could interact directly with your camera or microphone hardware, bypassing the ability of Windows to control the access.
I have a recent HP Envy laptop (HP ENVY x360 Laptop - 15z-ds100) with a Ryzen 4700u Renoir processor and running ubuntu 20.04. To get the internal microphone to work I build the most recent kernel and went into menuconfig and navigated to device drivers -> sound card support -> Advanced linux sound architecture -> ALSA for SoC audio suport.
No audio from zoom while on earphones. I cannot hear others' audio or speak while plugged in my earphone. - I am unmuted - My earphones work when using other software and websites but just not zoom (e.g. skype, youtube, etc) Things I have tried: - Changed the input and output audio settings in zoom to 1) the same as system and 2) to my earphones
1. This is my first post here. I am a new user of Ubuntu and am currently running Ubuntu 20.04 LTS dual boot with Windows 7 in my desktop. The issue I am facing is that the front panel microphone (pink jack) does not work in Ubuntu while the rear jack works fine. The mic is alright since it runs flawlessly in Windows.
2022-05-26 12:26 AM. Yes, my company has some computers, including Lenovo Laptops, Lenovo & DELL Desktops got the same issues after upgraded to the version after 5.9.3. The Zoom cannot detect the microphone, the camera light was on, but it cannot shows any image. The only one way is to downgrade the Zoom to version 5.9.3 or before.
Test microphone from GUI GNOME desktop. Open up Settings window and click on the Sound tab. Search for Input Device. Select an appropriate device and start speaking to the selected microphone. The orange bars below the device name should start flashing as a result of your audio input.
